BA Moolman

HUMAN GESTURES GALLERY

SYNOPSIS

A world full of people and their subtle, and not-so-subtle, physical behaviours that reflect their emotions, connections and interactions.

BA Moolman has explored, in paint, the silent language of emotions spoken by the human body in her series entitled Human Gestures, which she exhibited at the National Arts Festival, Grahamstown in 2018

A world full of people and their subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, physical behaviours that reflect their emotions, connections and interactions is the departure point for Moolman’s ‘Human Gestures’ series, which she describes as “my attempt to translate in paint the emotion of the unspoken word that is often visible only through body language”.

In her characteristic style that blurs the boundaries between representational and abstract, Moolman evokes human forms and their subtle gestures, postures and movement, using her artist’s language to convey emotion, mood and relationships that are left up to the viewer to imagine.
